Eternal Impressions Photography was formed on the basis that there are things in life worth taking a second look at. Amber, my wife, and I form the team that is ei-photo. Our very first date was spent taking pictures at the Oregon Coast. That day is one of the "things" of which I speak. Life is a celebration of light in the form of shapes, colors, textures, lines, and a beauty that is largely overlooked. The wonderful thing about photography is that it allows the photographer to show the world as he (she) sees it. The key, however, is to look. Our goal is to see the unseen, to express the unexpressed, and to show the fascinating in the mundane. That is what we capture on film. |
| Every single day the sun rises and then it sets again performing for us, as in comes and goes, a beautiful symphony of color and light. The beauty in this world is not hard to see when the eye is trained to look beyond the everyday glance and figure out why an object or a scene "looks so good". Once that is understood the beauty is endless. There are beautiful scenes and objects to see at the farthest reaches of the earth, but that same beauty can also be found right in your own backyard. Art is not necessarily about paint on paper or random sketches in a book describing the most foreign and exotic of subjects. It's about expression. It's about light. |

The camera is an amazing artisan's tool. Most people believe that it produces fact: that a photograph is the most accurate way to represent a person, place or thing. The real truth, however, is that a camera is simply a medium through which an artist conveys their thoughts and their message. A well planned photograph is a poem of light; just as words can be beautifully arranged to create a touching masterpiece, so can light be sculpted and manipulated to create a powerful work of art. It's not about "how" it was done; it is the message portrayed. |

This is why we are so passionate about what we do. For us it is about capturing with the camera the beauty that we see in the world. It is our key to optimism: searching for the interesting in the boring. There is always something worth photographing even in the dullest of circumstances, and in the exotic there exists a shot that is even more exotic. We capture the moments and the scenes that are worth remembering for eternity. |
